Maryland Chamber Promotes Grason M. Wiggins to Senior Vice President of Government Affairs
Aug 28, 2025
ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Maryland Chamber of Commerce announced today that Grason M. Wiggins has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, effective immediately. This promotion reflects Wiggins’ exceptional leadership since joining the Chamber in August 2024 and recognizes his role in delivering one of the most successful legislative sessions in the organization’s recent history.
During the 2025 General Assembly session, Wiggins and the Chamber’s advocacy team:
- Achieved a 93% success rate in stopping legislative proposals that would have reduced economic opportunities in Maryland.
- Connected more than 5,000 business leaders and community members with policymakers, collectively generating over 100,000 communications that amplified employer perspectives in Annapolis.
- Brought the voices of more than 400 business leaders into the legislative process through testimony and committee engagement, while partnering with dozens of organizations across the state.
“Grason elevated our advocacy to a new level with a clear strategy and strong results,” said Mary D. Kane, President & CEO of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. “Thanks to his leadership, Maryland businesses were protected from a devastating 2.5% services tax, unlimited liability exposure and costly climate mandates. With the support of our dedicated team and engaged members, Grason has elevated our advocacy work to new heights, strengthening our program to ensure the Maryland Chamber’s 7,000+ business members carry real weight in Annapolis.”
“The Board is proud to recognize Grason’s outstanding achievements with this well-deserved promotion,” said Amir Ahmadzadeh, Chair of the Maryland Chamber Board of Directors and Vice President, Atwell, LLC. “His ability to bring Maryland’s business community together and deliver results has protected jobs, encouraged growth and strengthened our state’s competitiveness.”
Beyond legislative advocacy, Wiggins has led innovative community engagement efforts, including targeted job fairs and grassroots initiatives that have connected Marylanders with employment opportunities, expanded the Chamber’s reach and strengthened relationships statewide.
“I’m honored to continue to work with Maryland’s legislators, employers, and workers to ensure our state is generating economic opportunity for every Marylander,” said Wiggins.
As Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, Wiggins will continue to lead the Chamber’s advocacy efforts in Annapolis and drive strategic policy initiatives on behalf of Maryland’s business community.
Prior to joining the Chamber, Wiggins served at Harris Jones & Malone, LLC, the Maryland Multi-Housing Association, as well as the Maryland Department of Labor. He holds a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
