Dynamic Automotive: Investing in People and Community Drives Long-Term Success
Jun 3, 2026
For Dynamic Automotive, success has never been measured solely by growth, but by creating opportunities for employees, investing in the next generation and strengthening the communities that have supported them along the way.
Most people know Dynamic Automotive as a trusted repair shop. What they may not know is that behind the seven locations and decades of business success is a company equally committed to developing future technicians, supporting local students and helping families in need throughout the communities it serves.
Since opening their first two-bay shop in 1995, Dynamic Automotive has grown into a trusted industry leader with seven locations serving Frederick County and beyond. But for CEO Dwayne Myers, success has never been measured solely by growth. It’s about creating opportunities for employees, investing in the next generation of workers and strengthening the communities that have supported the business along the way. That philosophy is at the core of Dynamic Automotive’s culture: “If you take care of your people, they will take care of the company.”
That people-first approach has earned national recognition. In 2025, Dynamic Automotive was named America's Top Small Business by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, recognizing the company's commitment to its employees, customers and community.
Workforce Development
For Dynamic Automotive, workforce development begins long before someone enters the job market. Myers believes one of the biggest challenges facing the automotive industry today is exposure. Decades ago, students often learned about cars by working on their own vehicles. Today’s vehicles are far more advanced, making hands-on opportunities harder to come by for young people.
“If you don’t have a school system that has a program or a shop that’s willing to open their doors, how can you fall in love with an industry that you can’t even try?” Myers asked.
That’s why Dynamic Automotive has made investing in schools and students a priority. The company works closely with local career and technology education (CTE) programs, serves on advisory boards and actively supports schools throughout the community. Myers sees those efforts as essential to building the next generation of skilled workers.
“We try to help the entire school system because they are our pipeline to our future talent,” he said.
That commitment is especially evident through Dynamic Automotive’s apprenticeship program, which provides aspiring technicians with a direct pathway into the automotive industry. The program combines hands-on training, mentorship, and real-world experience, allowing apprentices to develop advanced technical skills while building meaningful careers.
For Mechanic Ty Fitch, the program represents an opportunity to turn passion into a profession.
“In five years, I really want to be comfortable learning the top of the hood, the bottom of the hood, everything in between, and just kind of becoming a master mechanic,” he shared.
Education also plays a central role in how Dynamic Automotive serves customers. The company believes informed customers make better decisions about vehicle maintenance and repairs, and its team prioritizes transparency, communication and trust.
Employee Growth Opportunities
Dynamic Automotive's investment in people doesn't stop when someone is hired. The company intentionally creates opportunities for employees to learn new skills, take on leadership responsibilities and build long-term careers.
That commitment has led to remarkable growth stories. One employee began as a cashier before advancing to service advisor, location leader, organizational leadership and ultimately chief financial officer.
Myers believes strong businesses create opportunities for others to succeed. As employees develop specialized expertise and take on greater responsibility, they are rewarded accordingly. In some cases, team members have built careers that allow them to earn more than he does — something Myers views as a reflection of the opportunities the company has created.
For Myers, stories like these are among the clearest indicators of success. When employees are given opportunities to grow, both the individual and the business benefit.
Community-Centric
Dynamic Automotive's commitment to education extends beyond its workforce and into the communities it serves. Through partnerships with local nonprofits, schools and first responders, the company has built a strong culture centered on service and giving back.
One example is its partnership with Blessings in a Backpack, where a portion of every oil change supports programs that help feed children in need.
The company has also supported initiatives that provide beds to children in need, helping ensure local families have access to one of the most basic necessities for a healthy start in life.
“They’re fueling cars, we’re fueling kids,” said Ashley Waters, managing director of the Frederick Chapter of Blessings with a Backpack.
For Myers, supporting Maryland’s communities and economy goes hand in hand with supporting local businesses. He believes businesses rooted in their communities are uniquely positioned to help those communities thrive — if they are empowered to do so.
Message to Annapolis
“We live here,” Myers said. “Business owners live in the towns and communities that we serve. Do right by us and we’re going to help build them and help grow them.”
Dynamic Automotive’s story demonstrates what’s possible when businesses prioritize people, invest in workforce development and remain committed to their communities. Through apprenticeships, education partnerships, career advancement opportunities and community engagement, the company is helping shape a stronger future for Maryland’s workforce and economy.
“Let us do what we do. If you handcuff us, if you nickel and dime us, it takes away our ability to help the community.” Myers added.

For Myers, the formula is straightforward: invest in people, support your community and create opportunities for others to succeed. The result is more than a successful business — it's a lasting impact that extends far beyond the walls of any one shop.
