National Civics Bee®: Maryland State Finals
Organized in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s The Civic Trust and supported by local chambers of commerce across Maryland, the National Civics Bee®: Maryland State Finals is an annual competition that encourages middle school students from public, private, charter and home schools to engage in civics, contribute to their communities and flex their civics knowledge for a chance to win recognition and cash prizes. The Maryland Chamber Foundation will host the National Civics Bee®: Maryland State Finals competition on June 14, 2025 at Howard Community College.

Keynote Speaker: Secretary Paul Monteiro Jr., Maryland Department of Service and Civic Innovation
Governor Wes Moore nominated Monteiro to serve as Maryland's first Secretary of Service and Civic Innovation in 2023. Monteiro leads the newly created Maryland Department of Service and Civic Innovation which promotes service and volunteerism throughout the state, and includes Maryland Corps and Service Year Option programs.

2025 Bee Judge: Breanna Bledsoe
Manager of State & Local Policy for Amazon and Maryland Chamber PAC Board Member. Breanna has been involved in local government and politics for over eight years. She previously worked at the DC Council and the District Department of Transportation.

Senior Vice President of Community Banking for WesBanco and Maryland Chamber of Commerce Board Member. Stephen is a committed business leader passionate in bettering our state and its diverse communities.

2025 Bee Judge: Tami Watkins
Director of Government & Regulatory Affairs at Comcast. She has also held positions at Maryland Business For Responsive Government, Rockville Chamber of Commerce, The Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce, Deloitte, among others.
