Maryland’s Top Business, Policy Leaders Meet to Discuss Energy, AI and Fiscal Policy Ahead of 2026 Legislative Session
Nov 12, 2025
ANNAPOLIS, Md. — As Maryland accelerates its clean energy transition, weighs how to regulate artificial intelligence, and navigates the implementation of recent business tax policies, the state's top policymakers and business leaders will gather Nov. 20 for the Policy Forum for Maryland’s Future, presented by Constellation.
The day will open with remarks from House Majority Leader Del. David Moon and close with House Minority Whip Del. Jesse Pippy, framing a morning of substantive, solutions-focused discussions. The forum brings together policymakers, executives, and experts shaping these issues, offering journalists a front-row look at the conversations that will define the 2026 legislative session.
“Energy policy, AI and tax decisions aren’t just regulatory issues — they directly affect how Maryland competes for business and talent,” said Mary Kane, President & CEO of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. “This forum brings legislators, business leaders and experts together for honest, solutions-focused conversations on how to advance innovation, strengthen competitiveness and position Maryland for long-term growth.”
“We look forward to discussing critical issues facing Maryland through this important forum,” said Joe Dominguez, President & CEO of Constellation. “Affordable and reliable energy is central to Maryland’s economic growth and this forum offers an opportunity to bring diverse perspectives together to identify practical paths forward on energy, technology and fiscal policy that position the state as a hub for innovation and business development.”
The discussions come as Maryland competes nationally and regionally for businesses and residents. Lawmakers and business leaders will explore strategies for maintaining competitiveness alongside fiscal responsibility, innovation and energy generation and reliability.
