Event Recap: Maryland Business Outlook 2025

On Thursday, Feb. 27, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce brought together over 350 influential business executives and community leaders for its annual Maryland Business Outlook event, featuring Governor Wes Moore, Comptroller Brooke Lierman and Treasurer Dereck E. Davis.
Maryland Chamber President & CEO Mary Kane opened the event by highlighting the pivotal moment Maryland faces in shaping its economic future. She emphasized that strong businesses are the foundation of a thriving state, driving job creation, supporting communities and fueling innovation. She also expressed her appreciation for the Governor’s focus on economic competitiveness, particularly in areas like permitting reform, workforce development and more.
Governor Moore shared his inspiring vision for making this "Maryland’s decade" — one where the state becomes a leader in economic growth, innovation and opportunity. He underscored his commitment to making Maryland more competitive by regularly engaging with businesses, attracting investment and positioning the state as the capital of the emerging quantum industry.
A dynamic conversation, moderated by Jaime Costello of CosTELLo Your Story, featured Comptroller Brooke Lierman and Treasurer Dereck E. Davis.
