Maryland Chamber Board Re-elects
Officers and Appoints New Members
Annapolis, MD (April 28, 2010) - The Maryland Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors re-elected its officers for a second one-year term and appointed new members to the board during its April meeting.
Austin J. Slater, Jr., President & CEO of Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative, was re-elected Chairman. Slater first joined the Chamber Board in 2003. His top priority as Chairman is to grow the Chamber’s membership in order to make the organization an even stronger voice for business in Annapolis.
William T. Riley, Jr., Managing Principal of the Reznick Group, was re-elected Vice Chairman. He has served on the Chamber’s board since 2002. Riley has led the Chamber’s efforts to improve its financial and technological resources to better serve its members.
Thomas H. Graham, President, Pepco Region, Pepco Holdings, Inc., was re-elected Secretary-Treasurer. Graham has served on the Chamber’s board since 2005. He has worked to help the Chamber strengthen its financial position. In addition, he played an important role in the Board’s efforts to develop a proactive plan to encourage balanced environmental policy that addresses environmental concerns while maintaining the interests of the business community.
The Maryland Chamber's Executive Committee is rounded out by Immediate Past Chair Betty Buck, President of Buck Distributing Co., Inc.; Chamber President/CEO Kathleen T.
