The Board of Directors has appointed the leadership of Maryland Chamber committees and task forces for 2016-2017. They are listed below, along with a summary statement regarding committee purpose. We encourage active participation in each of the committees and task forces to prepare for and lobby issues during the 2017 General Assembly session. Employees of member firms of the Maryland Chamber are invited to serve on as many committees and task forces as they would like.

Helps preserve Maryland's fair and predictable laws governing tort liability as an essential part of Maryland’s business climate. Chair: Cheryl Matricciani of Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society of Maryland; Staff:
Works in partnership with employers, legislators, State agency officials (such as DLLR and the Workers’ Compensation Commission), independent research groups, and other stakeholders on wage and pay, unemployment insurance, employee benefits, workers’ compensation, discrimination, collective bargaining agreements/union-management issues, and other employment issues for the purpose of advocating positive legislative and regulatory outcomes on behalf of the business community. Works in partnership with employers, legislators, State environment officials, and other environmental stakeholders on air, water, and land resource legislation/regulations that foster both a competitive business-friendly environment with a healthy quality of life for all Marylanders. By invitation only, click here if you would like to be considered. The committee meets weekly during the General Assembly session to develop positions on legislation affecting the business community. When the General Assembly is not in session, the committee meets periodically to monitor events that are of importance and develops strategies for the legislative session.
