Bill Summary:
This bill would authorize the Secretary of DBED to create up to 6 BRAC incentive zones annually on the application of a county. Such zones must be in priority funding areas. A county would determine the zone tax incentives, which may include an income tax credit of up to $4,500 per new employee in the zone and an 80% property tax credit for up to 10 years (50% funded by the state) for new assessment growth in the zone. Businesses in the zone would receive priority funding for state financing programs.
