Chamber Position: Support

Position Summary: The Maryland Chamber has consistently favored improvements to the State’s transportation infrastructure, including supporting various funding mechanisms to support that goal. By increasing the amount of bonds secured by toll revenues, this bill would provide a greater ability to fund critical infrastructure needs. A higher bond cap also lowers the pressure on the need to raise tolls. For these reasons, the Maryland Chamber favors SB 182.
