History: The Chamber has supported similar bills in recent years that would have limited appeal bonds. In 2005 HB 639 received an unfavorable report by JUD. In 2006 HB 1333 died without a vote in JUD. In 2007 HB 807 received an unfavorable report in the Judiciary Committee. In 2009 HB 1372 received an unfavorable report from the Judiciary Committee.

Summary: The Chamber supported this bill as a means of guaranteeing businesses access to appeal rights, without facing the cost of an unaffordable appeal bond.
