Maryland is home to a well educated, highly skilled workforce. The state ranks first among states in the percentage of professional and technical workers in the labor pool. Thirty-seven percent of Maryland's population age 25 and above hold a bachelor's degree or higher.

Maryland’s 58 accredited institutions of higher learning provide unmatched education and continuing education opportunities. Virtually every kind of training and research required by business and industry can be obtained from an institution located in the state.
